How much does a Sri Lanka trip cost from Denmark?
Our private land tours cost roughly 750–1.100 DKK per person per day, including 3–4 star hotels, breakfast and dinner, a private air-conditioned car and an English-speaking driver-guide. Return flights from Copenhagen to Colombo with one stop are usually 4.500–7.500 DKK. A 12-day trip therefore lands around 15.000–19.000 DKK per person all-in — well below what most Danish tour operators charge for a comparable itinerary.
How do I fly from Copenhagen to Sri Lanka?
There are no direct flights. The usual one-stop routes from Copenhagen are via Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines) or Abu Dhabi, taking roughly 14–17 hours in total. Stockholm and Oslo have the same connections. Colombo is 4.5 hours ahead of Danish time in winter.
Do Danish, Swedish and Norwegian travellers need a visa?
Yes — an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) applied for online before departure. It is normally approved within 24 hours and covers a 30-day stay. See our Sri Lanka visa guide for the current process.
How many days should we spend in Sri Lanka?
Most Scandinavian travellers fly this far for 12 to 16 days on the ground. Ten days is enough for the Cultural Triangle, hill country and one beach stop; 14 days lets you add a rainforest night, a second safari and a longer beach finish without rushing.
Do we have to pay in advance?
No. There is no prepayment to hold your dates and free cancellation applies to most itineraries. Most travellers settle the balance on arrival in Sri Lanka, in cash or by card.
Is it better to book direct than through a Danish tour operator?
